Details:
WHAS-TV is looking for an Associate Producer/Producer who can write, create and produce interesting and engaging content for broadcast, online and social channels. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver with strong writing skills, journalistic judgment, excellent attention to detail and an interest in lifestyle and marketing topics. Our producers must be able to skillfully use social media and digital tools to research, discover and distribute content.
In this role, you will:
• Assist senior producer(s) in creating compelling broadcast and digital segments
• Serve as a line producer when needed
• Write and edit stories for on-air broadcast and digital platforms, including shooting video as needed
• Develop original content through social listening and independent sources
• Help develop segments, guests, and stories that are of interest to our audience
• Research for facts and credibility
• Write and post regularly on digital platforms including social media
• Use a variety of production techniques such as graphics and additional media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories
• Perform other tasks as required by supervisor or executive producer

Requirements:

• BA/BS in journalism, communications or marketing OR equivalent experience
• 2-5 years’ experience preferred
• Ability to work professionally with clients and account executives to create & maintain successful relationships
• Experience in photojournalism, editing, marketing, publicity and content management systems
• Understanding of tenets of professional journalism
• Skills in producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content
• Strong social media skills to help GDL maintain an active presence on Facebook and/or Twitter
• Knowledge of ENPS and Axis graphics a plus
• Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant& sometimes conflicting deadlines
• Ability to calmly handle live, breaking-news situations and changing events
