The Associate Producer will embrace WHAS’s standard of news
reporting, storytelling and investigative excellence while boldly advancing the
WHAS11 brand across multiple platforms.
Associate
Producers write, create and produce exciting and interesting newscasts and news
content for broadcast, online and social content. Producers must be able
to multi-task during newsgathering hours, sharing content before, during and
after a newscast or digital post. Strong performers are detailed creative
problem solvers with strong journalistic judgment, think creatively, use social
media and digital tools to research, discover and distribute content.
Responsibilities:
- Write and provide news content for air
- Collaborate with Producers, Executive Producers, Editors and the assignment desk to develop news stories
- Evaluate local, state, and national/international stories using Tegna Oasis, ABC, social media, news
services and wires
- Perform other duties as assigned

| Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field (preferred)
· At least one year experience in a newsroom (preferred)
· Prepared to work any shift in our 24/7 newsroom
· Must be able to work well under deadline pressure
Must exhibit solid news judgement |
