Clarkson Baptist Church in Clarkson, KY is prayerfully seeking a Children’s Minister called by God to be part of our family and team to help us invest in our children and their families by guiding them to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior & encourage them to mature in their faith. While this position is part-time, there is tremendous opportunity for growth as we strive to reach the over 7000 people within 7 miles of our church building in our wonderful small, rural town. The Children’s Minister is the leader for Children’s Ministry of Clarkson Baptist. Their main responsibility is to oversee all leaders and functions pertaining to children and their families. He or she is expected to teach, reach, recruit, & train members and prospects with the help of other leaders within Clarkson Baptist Church.

Minimum Maturity Level: Stable, maturing Christian
Talents/Abilities Desired: Ability to communicate Biblical Truths to children and their families, Able to counsel using the Bible, Godly role model, Solid organizational skills, Compassionate, & Dependable
Passion For: Nurturing children & families to know Jesus as their Lord & Savior, help them grow in their faith in conjunction with the rest of the church family as able
Length of Commitment: Indefinite
Anticipated Time Commitments:
- Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: 12 hours a week with potential up to 20 hours a week at later date.
- Participating in meetings/training: one hour a week
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Participate in staff meetings upon request.
- Partner with the Pastor in caring for the church family (primarily children and their families) to oversee and invest in children through Sunday School, Wednesday nights, and special events.
- Plan and coordinate outreach to children.
- Plan and lead a regular children’s camp, fellowships, retreats, and other opportunities for them to grow in their faith.
- Conduct volunteer training for workers, as needed, and be willing to recruit and train new workers.
- Responsible for developing and implementing safety for children during all programs and events.
- Remain informed on current trends in relation to reaching and ministering to children and their families.
- Coordinate the use of program materials, equipment, supplies, and space for children ministry needs with rest of the church ministries.
- Constantly evaluate ministry to maintain effectiveness and make necessary changes.
- Develop a Children’s Ministry budget and track expenditures throughout the year.
