Available Position: Director of Children’s Ministries at Campbellsville First United Methodist Church 4/10/18
Campbellsville First United Methodist Church is seeking a full-time Director of Children’s Ministries to promote spiritual growth for children ages birth through 5th grade. We are looking for a candidate with passion for Jesus Christ, gifts in recruiting and empowering volunteer-leaders. Our ideal candidate is gifted with administration abilities and is a team player able to work with leaders across the church to promote the church’s mission and vision. We are looking for someone with a strong biblical foundation and an understanding of the United Methodist tradition.
Qualifications
1. Confess and trust Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
2. Has a loving knowledge of scripture as the inspired Word of God, and its application to children and families.
3. Is faithful in prayer, and can communicate its importance to children and families.
4. Have an educational background with some combination of majors in Christian Ministries, Education, or Biblical Studies,
Job Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the oversight and leadership of all children’s ministries, birth through fifth grade, which include but are not limited to: Wednesday Night Ministries, Children’s Church, Sunday night ministries, Nursery, Special Events, Vacation Bible School, Summer Church Camp, Easter and Christmas Programs and Children’s Choir.
2. Responsible for the oversight and leadership of First Blessings Preschool. (This preschool is currently under development).
3. Develop new programs that benefit both children and their parents
4. Responsible for all staff/volunteers in the children’s ministry including nursery.
5. Recruit, train, and encourage volunteers for service in the Children’s Ministry. Communicate consistently with parents and make home visits.
6. Oversee and select the implementation of curriculum.
7. Be available to counsel/ pray with children & parents regarding spiritual matters.
8. Coordinate family events and/or camps for parents and families.
9. Manage communication between ministries that interact with Children’s Ministry.
10. Maintain the supplies and see that adequate supplies are available for all aspects of children’s ministries and activities.
11. Maintain, keep clean and organize the gym and fellowship hall following Children Ministry activities and functions.
12. Develop and implement safety and security processes for the children’s ministry.
13. Develop and enforce policies pertinent to the children’s ministry department.
14. Prepare annual Budget Request and purchase orders.
15. Approve children’s ministry programs, activities and disbursement of funds for supplies and projects, keeping within budgeted amount.
16. Maintain the children’s ministry’s section on church website.
17. Maintain the children’s ministry Facebook page for parent/volunteer communication.
18. Be Accountable to the Senior Pastor and the additional staff members of Campbellsville First United Methodist Church.
