Hurstbourne Christian Church in Louisville, KY is hiring to fill a Part Time Director of Family & Youth Ministries position.
Overview of Role:
As the Director of Family & Youth Ministries, you will be responsible for the oversight of activities for the youth and children of the church. You will lead a weekly youth (6th-12th grade) small group and plan fun youth events throughout the year. The Director of Family & Youth Ministries will also work with the Education Chair to plan children’s (birth-5th grade) Bible studies and events, which are often led by volunteers.
Duties:
- Supervise youth and children’s ministries (birth – 12th grade)
- Lead weekly youth small groups & Bible studies
- With the help of adult sponsors, plan events for youth and children: Easter Egg Hunts, Lock-ins, Messy Games, and additional programming for youth and families
- Collaborate with the Education Chair & Senior Minister to implement programs and curriculum for youth and children
- Participate in weekly Sunday morning worship services
- Work 15 hours each week
Requirements:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree or be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
- Support the theology of The Disciples of Christ Christian Church as found in The Design of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), but you do not need to be a current member of a Disciples of Christ church
- Have a working knowledge of Christian scripture
- Be willing to become an engaged member of our friendly congregation
- Have a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the youth and children
- Be able to pass a background check
