Photographer/Editor position:

WTVQ-TV (ABC), Lexington, KY has an immediate opening for a creative services videographer/editor for long and short format programming. The position will include filming and editing 30-minute programs involving multiple locations, as well as 2 – 5-minute news features – working with clients as well as on-air talent. Applicant must have creative non-linear video editing and videography skills, must be creative, willing to work flexible hours including weekends and be a team player. Experience with Adobe Creative suite – including Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and After Effects are a plus. Experience with HD video cameras, tripods, wireless microphones, and portable lighting are a must. A valid driver’s license and clean driving history is a must. Chief Meteorologist: WTVQ has an opening for a Chief Meteorologist. We’re looking for an aggressive, energetic leader who keeps weather local and relevant for our central Kentucky viewers. The successful candidate must have a thorough knowledge of the latest weather tools and weather science. Experience covering severe weather and tornadoes is required. Other job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, formulating and forecasting weather segments, designing graphics and providing leadership to our staff of Meteorologists. A degree in meteorology is required. Previous experience as a Chief Meteorologist, AMS certification and 3-5 years of on-air television experience is preferred. Web Content Producer/Assignment Editor: WTVQ-TV ABC 36 Lexington seeks a part-time web content producer/assignment editor to join our team. Responsibilities include posting content on the station website and social media on a daily basis, gathering and confirming information, monitoring fire/police scanners, and assigning reporters to planned and breaking news. Some technical production responsibilities will also be required. We are searching for a candidate who possesses strong communication and organizational skills, is highly-motivated, assertive, detail-oriented and a news consumer. Multimedia Journalist:  WTVQ Lexington is in search of a Multimedia Journalist to join our news team. This is a news “one-man-band” position that requires the applicant to enterprise stories shoot, write, edit, and present those stories both live and pre-record. All applicants must have a minimum of one-year of employment at a broadcast television or cable station is required. Candidate must have the technical and mechanical abilities associated with use of digital video camera / recorders, Edius non-linear editors, and Dejero live units.
