Job description:
WBKO-TV, an ABC, FOX and CW affiliate, has an immediate opening for a journalist who can report for sports and news, as well as produce a newscast when needed. WBKO is one of more than 50 television stations owned by Gray Television, Inc.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide content for daily live newscast as well as mobile platforms.
• Work to gather and edit compelling video and sound.
• Develop a network of sources.
• Contribute pictures, video and text updates to mobile platforms consistently throughout the day.
• Other responsibilities, including producing a live newscast, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Candidate must possess strong verbal and written communication skills including excellent news writing and visual story-telling ability.
• Creativity a must.
• Should be able to work with news crew to deliver the best live show possible under the daily pressure of live news production.
• Previous experience preferred.
• College degree in journalism or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
