WAVE 3 News, the NBC affiliate in Louisville, KY, is looking for a dynamic traffic reporter to expand our Sunrise team.
We need a technically savvy presenter who can mine official and civilian sources for the latest conditions, then use all the capabilities of our WSI Traffic system to present that information in a way that viewers easily grasp and appreciate. We’re a multi-platform news operation, so online and social skills are a must. This person in this position may also do occasional field reporting on traffic and transportation.
The successful candidate will have at least one year of on-air television experience, and previous traffic reporting experience is helpful. A working knowledge of Louisville’s roads, traffic patterns, and infrastructure is required.

The successful candidate must be able to write, shoot, edit, and present strong stories for broadcast, online, and social. This reporter must be skilled in all phases of storytelling, and thus ready to work alone in the field as required.

Online reporting will be a major part of this reporter’s responsibilities, so mastery of digital and social tools is a must. The successful candidate must also be able to write, shoot, edit, and present strong stories on video. This reporter must be skilled in all phases of storytelling, and thus ready to work alone in the field as required.
This position will include anchoring one or more weekend newscasts, so the successful candidate must have a strong presence on the anchor desk and in the newsroom.
Applicants must possess a four-year college degree and have at least three years experience reporting and anchoring.
