CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Jacqui Lubbers, Bowling Green, Ky., and Kim McCreary Jones, Bowling Green, Ky., are showcasing their art at the Campbellsville University Art Gallery at 205 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky. The art display will continue through Oct. 7.

Lubbers will be showing weavings and Jones will show painting and drawings. A closing reception will be Friday, Oct. 7 from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Art Gallery. The public is invited to attend the exhibit and reception free of charge.

Lubbers is a part-time instructor in weaving and art appreciation in the art department at Western Kentucky University. Lubbers is a 1975 graduate with a bachelor of fine arts and a master of fine arts, both from Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, Ky. Lubbers taught at Logan County Public Schools as a kindergarten through 12th grade art teacher.

“Even though the form and content of the work has changed, the compelling force behind my art hasn’t,” Lubbers said. “Turning a flat piece of woven cloth into a dimensional work of art or more basically, the process of weaving in general, is the most creative aspect of my life. Both processes and product come from my passion to weave and desire to make my art.”

Jones’ artwork consists of paintings and drawings she has created. Jones has her associate’s degree in business. She also has a bachelor of fine arts in graphic design. Jones is also the curator of the Ellis Walker Gallery in Bowling Green, Ky.

Campbellsville University is a widely acclaimed Kentucky-based Christian university with over 3,000 students offering 63 undergraduate programs, 17 master’s degrees and five postgraduate areas. The website for complete information is campbellsville.edu.
