CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Four classes are being taught at Campbellsville University’s Brockman Center in Hodgenville beginning next week.
“Introduction to Old Testament” will be taught by Dr. Dwayne Howell, professor of Old Testament and Hebrew at Campbellsville University; “Principles of Management” will be taught by Chuck Crain; James Gribbins, marketing coordinator for Campbellsville University’s Regional and Professional Education, will teach “Religion in Life” and Teresa Elmore, director of career services at Campbellsville University, will teach “Business Ethics.”
Howell’s class (CHS 111) will begin Aug. 24 and run through Oct. 12 and will meet on Tuesdays. The class taught by Crain, named BA 311, will meet on Thursdays and will begin Aug. 26 and run through Oct. 14.
Gribbins’ class, CHS 130, will be taught on Tuesdays beginning Oct. 19 and running through Dec. 7, and Elmore’s class, which is BA 384, will be taught on Thursdays beginning Oct. 21 and running through Dec. 16.
Howell has pastored at Rolling Fork Baptist Church in Gleanings, Ky. from 1984 to 1991 and from 2001 to present. He has pastored other churches in the area and have had the opportunity to fill many other pulpits as a guest speaker.
“This is a wonderful area of the state,” Howell said, “and I feel honored to be able to teach at the Brockman Center.
Howell said many people have shared with him they have wanted to take a course at Campbellsville University but couldn’t because of the distance or time.
“This is an opportunity for them to take a class closer to home and, since it is an evening course, it may work out better with their schedules,” he said.
Gribbins has served as the marketing coordinator for Campbellsville University’s Regional and Professional Education for the past four years, where he also serves as an adjunct faculty member. In 2009, James became the pastor of a new church plant in Louisville named The LifeSong.
“I can’t wait to teach this course at the Brockman Center. Everything about that location is great: the rooms, technology, the students.” said Gribbins, “And I love teaching this particular course. It really helps people relate to the Creator in a whole new way.”
Crain is finance manager at Knox Budget Car Sales in Muldraugh, Ky. He is a 2009 graduate of Campbellsville University where he received his master of business administration. He is a 1984 graduate of LaRue County High School and a 1991 graudate of McKendree University.
Elmore has been employed at Campbellsville University since February 1981. She has served the university at the Technology Training Center and in the Office of Student Records and other positions. She is also the disabilities coordinator at the university. She received her master of business administration degree from Campbellsville University in 2009. Her bachelor of science in marketing and management is also from CU where she graduated in 2003. She also received her associate’s degree from CU.
The Brockman Center is located at 813 Old Elizabethtown Road, Hodgenville.
