CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — According to an announcement from Campbellsville University president Michael V. Carter, CU has recorded her 21st consecutive semester of record enrollment.

Census data calculated the total enrollment increase at 3,225 students, compared to 3,006 students at about the same time last year. This is a 7.3 percent increase in the student body. Also, students staying in residence halls have increased 7.4 percent, from 883 students to 948 students.

Degree-seeking undergraduate students made an 8.9 percent increase from 1,888 to 2,056.

Students transferring from other schools to attend Campbellsville University are up 18.9 percent from the 191 students who transferred to CU last year.

Lastly, overall total new CU students was up 4.8 percent.

Campbellsville University officials anticipated the new enrollment growth last year, and a new residence hall for men students was built to accommodate 90 new students.

“We have seen an increase in enrollment because CU is very intentional in growing and expanding the higher education experience,” Dave Walters, vice president for admissions and student services, said.

“We are providing more services, more opportunities, more facilities, more academic programs and an increased emphasis on spiritual development,” he said.

Walters said, “It’s no secret that everyone wants the most for their money. In this economy, we understand that we have to deliver the highest quality educational experience and the entire faculty, staff, and administration work tirelessly to towards that objective.

“With a mission that points toward excellence and a strategic plan to guide CU in the process, we feel like these elements are leading factors in the enrollment success of the institution.”

Campbellsville University is a widely acclaimed Kentucky-based Christian university with over 3,000 students offering 63 undergraduate programs, 17 master’s degrees and five postgraduate areas. The website for complete information is campbellsville.edu.
