CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – A series of four special episodes of “Dialogue on Public Issues” on Campbellsville University’s TV-4, WLCU, (on Comcast Cable 10) will feature “Education Today in Campbellsville/Taylor County.”
Hosted by John Chowning, the series will feature administrators from the Campbellsville Independent School System, Taylor County School System, Kentucky Christian Academy and Campbellsville University.
Chowning, vice president for church and external relations and executive assistant to the president, will interview the following:
Campbellsville Independent Schools – David Petett, principal of Campbellsville Elementary School, Chris Kidwell, principal of Campbellsville Middle School, and Kirby Smith, principal at Campbellsville High School;
Taylor County Schools – Brian Clifford, assistant principal for Taylor County Elementary School, Tony Jewell, vice principal of Taylor County Middle School, and Charles Hidgon Jr., principal at Taylor County High School;
Kentucky Christian Academy – Lori Eubank, administrator, and Max Wise, Board member; and
Campbellsville University –Dr. Frank Cheatham, vice president for academic affairs, and Dave Walters, vice president for admissionsand student services.
“Campbellsville University is pleased to be featuring our local schools in a series called ‘Education Today in Campbellsville-Taylor County,’” Chowning said.
“The purpose of this series of interviews with the principals of the schools in each system is to help bring attention to the many positive things that are going in the schools,” he said.
“Our local schools are working hard to provide quality educational opportunity to our children and young people,” Chowning said. “In an era when too much attention is given to the negative aspects of education, we want to affirm that positive educational initiatives are ongoing in Taylor County, Campbellsville Independent and Kentucky Christian schools.”
Chowning said, “Campbellsville University works closely with these and other area school systems. Our students, faculty, and staff are very much involved in the schools – as parents, supporters, volunteers and as resource people.
“We look forward to broadcasting this series of interviews with school administrators in our three local school systems and highlighting their plans for 2010-11.
“It is our hope that these interviews will be beneficial to parents and others involved in the schools.”
The dates the Taylor County show will air are as follows: Taylor County School System – Sunday, July 4, 8 a.m.; Monday, July 5, 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., and Wednesday, July 7, 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The other air times of the other schools’ shows will be announced for each showing.
