Campbellsville University to hear the Rev. Joel Carwile at December commencement

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University 2010 December Commencement will host speaker the Rev. Joel Carwile, senior pastor of Valley View Church, on Friday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m. at Campbellsville Baptist Church, 420 N. Central Ave., Campbellsville.

There are 136 students scheduled to graduate. The list includes: master of arts in special education (learning and behavior disorders), 14; master of arts in teaching English to speakers of other languages, one;

Master of business administration, 12; master of music in performance, one; master of science in counseling, four; master of theology, nine; bachelor of arts, six; bachelor of music, three;

Bachelor of science, 59; bachelor of science in business administration, 17; bachelor of social work, six; associate degree in nursing, one; and associate of science, three.

Carwile is an adjunct professor and member of the Church Relations Council at CU, and serves on the board of trustees at Beth Haven Christian School.

In 2007, Carwile became the senior pastor of Valley View Church. In his first three years as pastor, the congregation has grown by almost 1,200 new members.

He completed a Bachelor of Science in Religion from Liberty University and a Master of Theology from CU. He is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership in Emerging Culture at George Fox Evangelical Seminary.
