Campbellsville University to host noon organ series Tuesday

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.— Mark DeAlba will perform at Campbellsville University’s noon organ series Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 12:20 p.m.

The event will take place in the university’s Ransdell Chapel, located at 401 North Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.

DeAlba will perform organ works by Richard Freese, J.S. Bach, James Biery and Guy Ropartz.

DeAlba is an organist from Stanford Christian Church in Stanford, Ky., and he is currently a senior at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Lexington.

He began studying piano at age six, and the organ at age eight.

He has studied with John Linker, choirmaster at Good Shepherd Episcopal in Lexington, and currently studies with Clif Cason, director of Maxwell Street Presbyterian.

DeAlba plans to major in organ when he begins college in the fall of 2011.
