“The new renovations to the Montgomery Library are the crowning jewel to the new instructional area of the Louisville Education Center. Not only is there moreshelving, but the technology provides greater interconnectivity with the main campus,” Keith Spears, vice president for regional and professional education at CU, said.
The new LEC offers a technologically advanced library. Jim Woolums, director of CU-Louisville, said, “The video conferencing technology is going to allow us to connect all across the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The university’s investment is this will allow more people to pursue their education.”
The new LEC offers two new classrooms, two student study areas, an expanded student lounge, improved faculty offices, a new Montgomery Library and a video conferencing room.
Spears said, “The design accomplished by facilities coordinator Josh McFarland allows for new learning configurations, more books and greater access to technology. It is a remarkable model for space efficiency and functionality.”
Contributions made by the Montgomery family made the renovations possible. “This is an excellent example of the impact that a gift can have on an institution and its students.
