Campbellsville University to present opera ‘Don Giovanni’

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.—The Campbellsville University School of Music Opera Workshop will be presenting the opera “Don Giovanni” on Tuesday, April 27 at 8 p.m. in The Gheens Recital Hall in the Gosser Fine Arts Center at 210 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky.

The event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Mark Bradley, professor of music, will be conducting the opera.

The cast includes: Ha Hae Jung, an ESL student from South Korea as Don Giovanni; Samuel Hong, a graduate student from South Korea as Don Ottavio; Taeeun Moon, a graduate student from South Korea as Leporello; Youngmi Hyun, a graduate student from South Korea as Donna Anna; Debora Morais, a graduate student from Brazil as Donna Elvira; Margareth Miguel, a graduate student from Brazil as Zerlina.

Bradley will sing the smaller roles of Masetto, The Commandant and The Statue. All singers will also sing chorus numbers.

Carla Farias, a graduate student from Brazil, will play the piano for the opera.

The opera is set in Spain in the 1600s. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is the composer of the piece.
