Campbellsville University’s Denise Rose receives scholarship

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Denise R. Rose, a student in the School of Education at Campbellsville University, has received a $500 Kentucky Association of Professional Educators (KAPE) scholarship check, one of two, awarded to student teachers each year.

Rose will complete her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education (IECE) in December 2012.

Dr. Sharon Hundley, IECE program coordinator, said, “Ms. Rose is a dedicated professional. She possesses excellent communication skills and has a commitment to support young children and families.

“She is knowledgeable about the development of young children, the special education process, curriculum, assessment and working with a diverse group of families including those who are English language learners.”

Rose graduated from Somerset Community and Technical College in December 2009 with an AAS in interdisciplinary early childhood education.

She also holds an early childhood administrator certificate, a Director’s Credential and a Commonwealth Child Care Credential. She has worked in early childhood for ten years serving as a director for seven of those years.

In Green County, she has done substitute teaching, as well.

She is married to Victor Rose, and they have two children, Dennis and Alyson.
