KBC president, Dr. Floyd Paris, to speak at chapel Sept. 7

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Dr. Floyd Paris, pastor of Unity Baptist Church of Ashland, Ky. and Kentucky Baptist Convention president, will speak at Campbellsville University’s chapel service Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 10 a.m. in Ransdell Chapel, located at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.

The event is free and open to the public.

Paris has been serving as pastor of Unity Baptist Church since 1998. Prior, he was the pastor and youth minister at churches in Tennessee and Mississippi.

Paris was president of the 2007 Kentucky Baptist Pastors’ Conference and is a member of the Kentucky Baptist Convention Mission Board, where he serves on the administrative committee and has been a member of the Committee on Public Affairs. He also serves as a chaplain with Kentucky Baptist disaster relief.

Paris has served on the Credentials Committee and was a two-term board member for the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission for the Southern Baptist Convention.

Paris is a graduate of Mid-South Bible College (now Victory University) in Memphis, Tenn. He holds both a master’s and doctorate degree from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, also in Memphis.

Chapel is designed to provide opportunities for corporate worship and exposure through a variety of informative speakers and presentations. All chapels are open to the public free of charge and are televised live on WLCU (Comcast Cable channel 10) and on WLCU Radio 88.7 FM and are streamed live on the Internet.
