Homecoming 2020

Homecoming 2020

In response to the uncertainty involving COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to postpone many of Campbellsville University’s Fall Homecoming 2020 festivities until next Spring. “Play, Paws, Rewind” was scheduled for Oct. 19-24 and instead will move to a virtual world to bring the celebration to the comfort of your own home. While we understand it will be disappointing not to unite on our beloved campus, our primary concern is to ensure the well-being of our CU Family, the surrounding community, and those beyond our borders.

Dates will be released at a later time for the 1970 Golden Heritage Reunion and the Alumni Awards Banquet.

Thursday, October 22

Cyber Scavenger Hunt

Join us from noon to 8 p.m. on CU’s Facebook page and Instagram for an at-home scavenger hunt unlike any other! Challenges will be posted every hour throughout the time frame where participants will need to take photos and submit on the post. Participants will need to take photos of themselves with the object, post it on social media and tag the Campbellsville University social media page in each post. For each submission you make, your name will be entered into a drawing for a $250 Amazon gift card!

Tribute to the Class of 1970

This year’s Homecoming was supposed to feature a special event to celebrate the Class of 1970’s 50th reunion with their induction into the Golden Heritage Club. Even though we will celebrate this milestone in the spring, we still want to pay a tribute to this special class on Homecoming weekend. If you are a part of the Class of 1970 and would like to participate in this project by submitting a video of your memories, please submit your video on the link below, email amfox@campbellsville.edu or call (270) 789-5149 by Oct. 1 so we can get them edited in time to spotlight on the University’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Tour of Campus, Live on Facebook!

There are so many changes happening that if you haven’t been on campus in a while, it might be hard to recognize your alma mater! Join us on Facebook Live at 2 p.m. for a virtual walking tour across campus to see the old and the new! Your guide will take you through some of the buildings while telling you about what is happening at CU. You might even run into some familiar faculty/staff members along the way!

Rewind Back in Time

Look, listen and Paws as we take a look back at where we came from and where we are going at Campbellsville University. We have dug deep into the archives to find old photos from when the institution began as Russell Creek Academy and the journey that has brought us to the university we are today. We will talk with several key figures who have been instrumental in shaping Campbellsville into the institution she has become. Join us as we reflect on the past, present and future of Campbellsville University at 4:00 p.m. on the CU YouTube Channel.

Virtual Homecoming Race 2020

Even if we can’t gather for this year’s Homecoming 5K, we are still here to provide you with an opportunity to race while following the guidelines of health officials. How does it work? Run or walk a 5K/10K/Half Marathon anywhere on your own or with a small group of people. You can run, jog or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, at the gym or on the track. You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. Remember to stay 6 feet apart from people if you are in a group. Please register by Monday, Oct. 19 at the link below. Cost is $20 (discounts for students) and includes a finisher’s medal and printable racing bib. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female in each category and winners will be announced Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on the CU Facebook page.
