The mission of the Office of Campus Safety/Security is to create a secure environment
where everyone can learn, live, and grow with peace of mind within our diverse campus
community. Our primary goal is to protect our students, faculty, staff, and guests through a community-focused approach that enhances safety. This includes visible security
personnel, preventive patrols, 24/7 accessibility, positive conflict resolution, and
programs dedicated to crime prevention and awareness. We collaborate with city, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to achieve this mission. The safety and well-being of everyone
on the campus of Campbellsville University remain our highest priority.
The individuals who make up the Department of Campus Safety/Security, commonly referred
to as Campus Safety, are professionals with a passion for serving others on campus.
Each individual of the department is highly trained in CPR, AED, First Aid and holds certification in Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) protocols, reflecting our unwavering
commitment to preparedness, professionalism, and the well-being of our campus. Their responsibilities encompass securing all campus buildings, conducting regular
patrols of university grounds, responding promptly to emergency calls, and monitoring an advanced camera surveillance system for any unlawful acts. They can also provide essential assistance, including vehicle jump-starts and referrals to local resources for vehicle lockouts.
In the residence halls, they maintain strict access control, admitting students only upon verification of proper identification. Each safety/security officer upholds all city, state, and federal laws as they work closely with each agency as needed. The safety and well-being of everyone on the campus of Campbellsville University remains each safety/security officer’s highest priority.
The safety and security of our students, faculty, staff, and guests is a shared responsibility.
We encourage all community members to partner with Campus Safety/Security to help
maintain a secure campus environment.
Every student receives access to the Student Handbook upon registration. Inside, you’ll
find valuable information and tips on topics such as parking lot safety, protecting
personal property, sexual harassment prevention, and alcohol/drug awareness. These
resources are designed to help you avoid becoming a victim of crime.
