CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Eddie Price, a Kentucky author and recipient of a Campbellsville University Excellence in Teaching Award for 2012, will be on the campus of Campbellsville University on Monday, Oct. 15.

He will speak about and promote his new novel, “Widder’s Landing,” which was released on Sept. 23 through Acclaim Press.
He will have a book signing from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Barnes & Noble College Bookstore in the Davenport Student Commons at 410 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville. The public is invited to the event.
At 6 to 8 p.m., Price will give a presentation and book signing at the Banquet Hall of the Badgett Academic Support Center at 110 University Drive, Campbellsville. The public is invited to this event as well.
He will speak to students in English and American history classes at 11 a.m. in the Banquet Hall.
The novel, “Widder’s Landing,” is set during the War of 1812 and interweaves many historical facts in with the story. The novel takes place in Kentucky from 1811 to 1815.
“Widder’s Landing” is about how Kentuckians were affected by the War of 1812. The main character in “Widder’s Landing” is 21-year-old Craig Ridgeway, who journeys down the Ohio River. Price also describes “Widder’s Landing” as a love story.
Price is a lifelong native of Kentucky. A graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College where he received his bachelor’s of arts degree, and Western Kentucky University where he received his master’s and rank I. Price has taught history for 36 years (31 of which at Hancock County High School).
He has also taught part-time classes for Owensboro Community and Technical College. He is the winner of numerous teaching awards and has coached many award-winning academic teams and history contest winners. He is active in the Hancock County Historical Society and helped organize the Young Historians Club.
He has received Ashland Oil’s Golden Apple Teaching Award, was included in Who’s Who Among America’s High School Teachers, and has won the Outstanding American History Teacher Award from the Kentucky Association for the Teachers of History (KATH) and Kentucky Council for the Social Studies (KCSS).
