CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University has partnered with Educators Rising Kentucky, which held a day full of activities for over 100 High School students on Campus during the fall semester. The mission of these students was to gain as much experience as possible so they could become the future educators of Kentucky.

The interactive learning and connections these students received were made possible through the partnership between CU and Educators Rising Kentucky. Educators Rising is a program that identifies middle and high school students with exceptional drive to become future educators. Previously known as Future Educators of America, Educators Rising continues to pursue the same vision.

Educators Rising State Coordinator Brynne (Bree) Massie explained the organization's mission. “Educators Rising is a student-led career and technical organization that invites students who are interested in pursuing a career in education to engage in community service, leadership opportunities, academic competitions, and professional learning conferences.”

“At the state level, our goal is to strengthen partnerships with university coordinators and to intentionally connect students, teacher leaders, and colleagues within each region, “Massie explained. In Kentucky, teaching and learning pathways are organized into eight regions, with CU serving as the university partner for their fourth region.

While on CU’s campus, these students caught a glimpse of what it means to be an education student in a collegiate environment. Students took campus tours and connected with faculty from the CU School of Education. “The Campbellsville University conference was especially meaningful for our Region 4 members and guests. Students were introduced to Educators Rising competitions and were able to view exemplar projects that earned state and national recognition,” said Massie.

Students were also able to prepare for the upcoming Educators Rise Conference, scheduled for 2026. To prepare, students could practice for competitions with CU faculty to hear valuable feedback about their performance.

The students were not the only ones who benefited from their visit. The local schoolteachers who visited with the students were also invited to meet with CU faculty to discuss future partnerships and events. “It was interactive and very engaging. During the luncheon, we met with the high school teachers for an information session and collegiality,” said Dr. Robin Magruder, Dean of the School of Education.

Campbellsville University will continue its mission with Educators Rising Kentucky. “This was the first of what we hope will be an annual event,” said Magruder, to find the future generations of teachers and educators with the knowledge and experience students need to succeed.
