Campbellsville University appoints Dr. David M. Eplion as Dean of the College of Business and Enterprise

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Dr. David M. Eplion joins Campbellsville University as Dean of the College of Business and Enterprise after having spent 25 years at Indiana University Southeast, where he has been Dean of the School of Business for the past ten years. During his tenure, he provided leadership in academic program development, accreditation, enrollment and student success, faculty development, and engagement with the regional business community.

“It is my pleasure to announce that Dr. David Eplion has accepted the appointment of Dean of the College of Business and Enterprise. He brings with him a record of leadership that speaks directly to the goals we have set for our College of Business and Enterprise,” expressed Dr. Jeanette Parker, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Parker went on to say that Dr. Eplion has been candid about Campbellsville's Christian mission being central to his decision to join us. His leadership philosophy is rooted in servant leadership and reflects the same values of integrity, compassion, and service that define CU.

“I am tremendously excited to join Campbellsville University and lead the College of Business and Enterprise. I am greatly impressed by the university’s strong sense of mission, its commitment to students, and the genuine enthusiasm of the faculty, staff and leadership for the future of CU,” said Eplion.

Dr. Eplion has placed a strong emphasis throughout his career on building partnerships between higher education and the business community. He has worked closely with business and community leaders to create opportunities for students, strengthen employer relationships, and develop programs and initiatives that connect the university with the region it serves.

“I believe that a great college of business should be deeply connected to the community it serves. I look forward to building on the College’s strengths, creating new opportunities for our students and faculty and developing even stronger relationships with businesses, alumni and community leaders throughout Kentucky and beyond,” shared Eplion when expressing his excitement for making the move to Campbellsville.

Dr. Eplion has also maintained a strong commitment to students and teaching. He has served as a faculty advisor to student organizations, mentored numerous student interns, received the Indiana University Trustees Teaching Award, and was inducted into the Indiana University Faculty Colloquium on Excellence in Teaching.

CU President Dr. Joe Hopkins expressed his excitement for the new appointment. “Dr. Eplion is more than a successful scholar and Dean; he is known as a gifted team builder and innovative leader. His winsome and positive spirit, rooted in faith, will be a welcome force in our community.

Dr. Eplion earned his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Indiana University Bloomington, his Master of Business Administration from Indiana University Southeast, and his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management from the University of Pittsburgh.
