Program Overview
The Paramedic Program at Campbellsville University prepares students to become skilled,
compassionate paramedics committed to saving lives and serving communities. With a
focus on academic excellence, servant leadership, and ethical responsibility, our

response experiences. Through rigorous coursework, hands-on simulations, and field
training, students gain the expertise needed to deliver advanced pre-hospital care

The Paramedic Program at Campbellsville University is offered at the Monroe County
Education Center, providing hands-on training and access to state-of-the-art facilities.
Students gain practical experience through clinical training in local healthcare settings,
preparing them for a successful career in emergency medical services.
To join this elite program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Age and Education: Be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or GED.
Licensure: Applicants must possess a current and active Emergency Medical Technician
(EMT) certification in good standing.
Assessment Scores: Achieve minimum required scores on reading comprehension and mathematics
assessments.
Health and Legal Clearances: Pass a comprehensive background check, drug screening,
and provide proof of immunizations.
Physical Fitness: Meet the physical and mental health standards necessary to perform the duties of
a paramedic.
Note: Campbellsville University does not offer any advanced placement. Students are enrolled
as part of a cohort and are required to complete the courses consecutively, following
the prescribed sequence. Additionally, CU does not accept transfer credits or credits
for experiential learning. This policy ensures that all students receive the full,
comprehensive education and training essential for success in the program.
The demand for paramedics is expected to rise as emergency medical services (EMS).
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for paramedics and emergency
medical technicians (EMTs) is projected to grow due to an aging population, an increase
in chronic conditions, and the ongoing need for rapid response to medical emergencies.

The Campbellsville University Paramedic program has been issued a Letter of Review
by the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical
Services Professions (CoAEMSP). This letter is NOT a CAAHEP accreditation status;
it is a status signifying that a program seeking initial accreditation has demonstrated
sufficient compliance with the accreditation standards through the Letter of Review
Self-Study Report (LSSR) and other documentation. Letter of Review is recognized by
the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) for eligibility to
take the National Registry's Paramedic credentialing examination(s). However, it is
NOT a guarantee of eventual accreditation.
