Program Overview

The School of Barbering at Campbellsville University provides students with 1,500 clock hours of comprehensive training, preparing them for a successful career in the barbering industry. Our curriculum covers a wide range of essential skills, including hair cutting, styling, shaving, and client care, while also emphasizing key areas of study such as salon management, ownership, and the science behind barbering. Students will gain a deep understanding of the industry through courses in chemistry, bacteriology, pharmacology, electricity, hygiene, and the anatomy and physiology of the human body. The program adds psychological principles to help students build strong client relationships and navigate the business side of the industry. Through a combination of academic instruction and hands-on practice, students will graduate fully prepared to obtain their license and begin a rewarding career in barbering.
