Program Overview
Campbellsville University's Welding program provides students with hands-on training
in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding. The program prepares
graduates for careers in industries like construction and manufacturing, offering
both classroom instruction and practical experience to help students earn certifications
and succeed in the welding field. Campbellsville University's Welding program is designed
to prepare students for a successful career in the welding industry. This 12-month
program provides hands-on training and theoretical instruction in four primary types
of welding:
Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)
Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
Students will learn both the technical skills and safety protocols necessary to excel
in various welding environments. Upon completion, graduates will be prepared for entry-level
positions and can earn industry-recognized certifications.
At Campbellsville University, our Welding Program offers hands-on training with modern
equipment and experienced instructors to prepare you for a successful career in the
welding industry. You'll gain practical skills in SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW, along
with a strong foundation in safety, blueprint reading, and oxy-fuel cutting. With
small class sizes and personalized instruction, CU provides the focused, real-world
education you need to enter the workforce with confidence.
12-Month Program: Focuses on providing hands-on training in four key welding techniques:
Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)
Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
Safety & Technical Aspects: Students learn the critical safety procedures and technical skills necessary for
each welding process.
Oxy-Fuel Cutting: Instruction in the proper and safe use of a torch to cut metal, along with the scientific
principles behind the cutting process.
Blueprint Reading: Training on how to read and understand welding blueprints, including weld symbols,
line definitions, and various print views. The course begins with basic concepts and
advances to more complex techniques.
Campbellsville University offers a comprehensive curriculum that prepares students
for success in their chosen field. Whether you are attending the Campbellsville or
Harrodsburg campus, you will receive the same high-quality education. The courses
are designed to provide both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience. Below
