Program Overview

Campbellsville University’s Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance prepares students for careers as professional singers, music ministers, and performers. The program emphasizes vocal technique, repertoire, languages, and stage presence, combined with strong music theory and general education coursework. Students gain experience through lessons, ensembles, recitals, and performance opportunities.

 

  • Focused Vocal Training: Receive private voice lessons tailored to your vocal range and style.
  • Performance Experience: Participate in recitals, ensembles, opera scenes, and community concerts.
  • Language and Diction: Study diction and languages essential for vocal repertoire, including Italian, German, and French.
  • Music Theory and Musicianship: Develop comprehensive musicianship skills through theory and ear training courses.

The Vocal Performance, B.M. program is offered at the Campbellsville campus. Curriculum includes private voice lessons, vocal pedagogy, diction, music theory, music history, applied performance, and ensemble participation. To be admitted into the Vocal Performance, B.M. program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED: Provide proof of graduation or an official GED certificate.
  • Transcripts: Submit official transcripts from all previously attended institutions.
  • Minimum GPA Requirement: Meet academic standards set by the School of Music.
  • Audition: Complete a vocal audition demonstrating technical skill, musicality, and repertoire.

These requirements ensure students are prepared for the academic and artistic demands of the program.

The Vocal Performance, B.M. degree opens doors to careers such as:
