Patient Care Technician

Tuition: $2,600 . Cost includes tuition, books, malpractice insurance, background check, drug screen, NCCT exam fee, and supply kit.


Program Description:

Campbellsville University's Patient Care Technician (PCT) program provides knowledge and skills for graduates to assume the role and responsibilities required in the hospital and other healthcare settings. PCT graduates are qualified to perform a range of tasks as delegated by nurses and physicians in the healthcare environment. Included in the skill set are vital signs, phlebotomy, electrocardiography (ECG), and record keeping, and other direct patient care skills. Upon completion of the PCT program, the student will be eligible for the NCCT exam which is a national certification.

Tuition includes textbooks, a supply kit, national exam fee, drug screen, background check, and malpractice insurance coverage. This program is four months in length- a quick and high quality path to a certification in a medical profession. To be admitted into the PCT program, candidates must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, satisfactorily pass a drug test, and complete a criminal background check.

The course consists of classroom and clinical hours. The clinical hours will be scheduled near the end of the course and will be 8-hour workdays.
Only 15 students will be accepted per class.
