Campbellsville University's Los Angeles Education Center in Encino, California, is part of a collaborative of graduate educators and professional administrators focused on increasing the number of qualified mental health professionals serving communities in need of public mental health care.

Through partnerships with academic institutions, government agencies, and community organizations, the MFT Leadership Collaborative promotes and mentors graduate students preparing for careers in public mental health. Phillips Graduate University, now Campbellsville University, LA Education Center, has worked closely since 2005 with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and the state of California to educate and train students in a curriculum aligned with the values of the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA,) which prepared students for post-graduate employment in public mental health settings. In 2010, the university expanded its leadership role in establishing a statewide network of 90+ educational institutions to deliver MHSA-funded educational stipends, helping students pursue careers that support the goals of California’s Workforce Education and Training (WET) Plan.
