Chart Your Path Scholarship
The Chart Your Path award is funded by Phillips Graduate Institute and is available to students who submit their application for admission as a part of one of our online information sessions. Sign up for our next online session to learn more about this scholarship opportunity.
Clinton E. Phillips Scholarship
The California Marriage and Family Therapist Educational Foundation (CAMFT) awards scholarships and grants to students who pursue their master's degree in MFT. This includes the Clinton E. Phillips scholarship in the amount of $4,000. To apply, visit the CAMFT website, fill out the online application, and submit it before the deadline of November 6, 2020. To qualify for the Clinton E. Phillips scholarship, applicants must meet the minimum requirements that include enrollment in an approved course of study. Future Counselors of America Scholarship
This scholarship awards $1,000 annually to a student who plans to work as a relationship counselor or in a closely related field. To apply, students must draft a 500- to 900-word essay titled, “The Psychology of Online Dating.” Forward your essay, your official transcripts, and your application by June 30th each year.
Master's Degree Scholarship in Psychology and Counseling
Offered by Learn.org, the Master's Degree Scholarship in Psychology and Counseling awards $500 annually to students pursuing degrees in multiple areas of counseling, including marriage and family therapy. One scholarship winner is chosen annually, based upon academic performance, extracurricular activities, and employment history. Apply online by April 1, 2021.
Diversity Scholarship for Emerging Leaders
The American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy offers several scholarships annually to members, including the Diversity Scholarship for Emerging Leaders. Available to minority applicants, this awards up to $3,000 to students pursuing degrees as MFTs. Apply online by December 15 of each year.
Hispanic Scholarship Fund
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund also provides annual awards to students of Hispanic heritage. Though the emphasis is on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), counseling students may still apply. Awards are competitive and based on merit. They provide chosen applicants with awards ranging between $500 and $5,000.
Consideration for this award opens on January 1st each year. The deadline for applications is February 15.
Best Counseling Degrees
Best Counseling Degrees publishes a comprehensive list of scholarships available to students pursuing degrees in counseling. Each award comes with its own requirements, but there are multiple scholarships available for those who meet the individual qualifications, such as:
- Survivors of domestic abuse
- Students who plan to work with children with special needs
- Students of Hispanic, American Indian, or Alaskan Native heritage
- Students with proven leadership skills
- Students willing to serve rural communities after graduation
