Clinical LMFT Training Experience:
The Phillips Master of Marriage and Family Therapy degree combines theory with hands-on clinical experience. Students provide direct clinical service in the classroom through Case Conference courses and at community agencies approved by the school. These clinical placements allow students to gain practical experience while fulfilling academic requirements.
Approved training sites include counseling centers, schools, medical facilities, and social services agencies. To obtain the California MFT license, students must complete 375 hours of practicum experience. This experience begins after the first semester, once faculty designates students as ready for clinical work.
