Campbellsville University’s College of Mental Health invites students, professionals, and community members to join us for the first annual Advancing Mental Health: Community Awareness Day on May 1, 2026, at the Campbellsville University campus. This event kicks off National Mental Health Month and brings together future professionals, community partners, and mental health leaders for a morning of connection, learning, and opportunity.

Participants can join in person or virtually, exploring pathways into mental health careers, engaging with interactive awareness activities, and connecting with organizations hiring in counseling, psychology, social work, and marriage and family therapy.

For Organizations:

  • On-Site Participation: Reserve a table at Campbellsville University to meet with students and discuss opportunities.
  • Virtual Participation: Schedule a Zoom time slot to meet with students from anywhere.

Mental health professionals can earn up to 2 hours of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) during the event. Sessions are available in person and virtually. Registration is required only for online participants. In-person attendees do not need to register.

Description: This session introduces EMDR and how it helps the brain process trauma. Participants will explore how distressing memories can become “stuck” and how bilateral stimulation supports healing. The session covers the eight phases of EMDR and discusses its use with trauma, anxiety, and attachment. Ideal for professionals seeking a foundational overview before formal EMDR training.

Earn Convocation Credit at Community Awareness Day

Students who attend Community Awareness Day hosted by the College of Mental Health have the opportunity to receive convocation credit while engaging in an event focused on education, advocacy, and community connection. By attending, students not only fulfill convocation requirements but also gain valuable insight into issues impacting individuals and communities today. Convocation programs allow students to receive credit for each approved event they attend, contributing toward their required total during their time at Campbellsville University.
