At Campbellsville University, we are dedicated to preparing the next generation of compassionate and skilled marriage and family therapists. Our Department of Marriage and Family Therapy offers two Marriage and Family Therapy programs to fit your personal and professional goals at our Los Angeles Education Center (LAEC) campus and through CU Online. No matter which path you choose, our Marriage and Family Therapy programs are designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience to make a real difference in the lives of individuals, couples, and families.
CU Online: The Campbellsville University Marriage and Family Therapy Program through CU Online equips compassionate clinicians through a Christ-centered framework that integrates academic excellence, ethical practice, and systemic theory. Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE), the program prepares students to become competent marriage and family therapists who are committed to serving individuals, couples, and families across a variety of cultural and community contexts with professionalism and integrity. We envision graduates who are recognized for their clinical excellence, Christ-centered leadership, and ability to bring healing and restoration to relationships within the communities they serve.
Los Angeles Education Center (LAEC): The Phillips Marriage and Family Therapy Program at Campbellsville University’s Los Angeles Education Center is dedicated to cultivating culturally responsive and spiritually grounded clinicians prepared to serve the diverse needs of California communities. The program fosters critical thinking, ethical practice, and inclusive therapeutic skills while preparing students for licensure and impactful careers in a multicultural society. We envision graduates who lead with compassion, cultural responsiveness, and professional excellence, making meaningful contributions to individuals, couples, families, and communities through effective clinical practice.
Two Programs, Two Accreditation Paths
Campbellsville University’s CU Online MMFT program is COAMFTE-accredited and prepares students for licensure in Kentucky and other states.
Our Phillips Marriage and Family Therapy program at our Los Angeles Education Center (LAEC) is separately approved by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE), with a curriculum designed specifically to meet California licensure requirements.
