Campbellsville University’s Master of Music (M.M.) is a professional graduate degree designed for musicians who are ready to deepen their skills and expand their career opportunities. Concentration Overview

Campbellsville University’s Master of Music programs offer specialized concentrations to help you grow as a performer, educator, or leader in your chosen field. Each concentration provides advanced, focused training grounded in both musical excellence and practical application.

Strengthen your skills on the podium with advanced training in score study, rehearsal techniques, and ensemble leadership. This concentration is ideal for aspiring conductors of bands, choirs, or orchestras in academic, church, or community settings.

Focus on refining your technique, expression, and repertoire on your primary instrument. Designed for those pursuing a professional performance career or preparing for doctoral study, this concentration includes applied lessons, ensemble work, and recital preparation.

Combine high-level performance training with practical instruction in teaching techniques. This concentration is ideal for pianists who want to perform professionally while also preparing to teach in studios, schools, or colleges.

To be admitted into the Master of Music program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Music: A completed undergraduate degree from an accredited institution.
  • Transcripts: Submit official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended.
  • Audition: Complete a performance audition or portfolio relevant to your concentration.
  • Letters of Recommendation: Provide at least two professional or academic references.
  • Minimum GPA Requirement: Must meet the academic standards established by the graduate school.

These requirements ensure candidates are well-prepared for graduate-level study in music.

The Master of Music degree prepares graduates for a wide range of professional roles, including:
