Program Overview

The Master of Divinity at Campbellsville University provides a comprehensive, Christ-centered education designed to prepare students for full-time ministry, missions, chaplaincy, and theological leadership. With academic depth, spiritual formation, and practical application at its core, this graduate program equips students to preach, lead, counsel, and serve with clarity, purpose, and compassion.

 

Concentration Overview

Students have the opportunity to customize their Master of Divinity by choosing from several concentrations. Each concentration complements the M.Div. core curriculum with specialized training tailored to particular ministry settings.

Designed for students who wish to deepen their understanding of Scripture and biblical interpretation. This concentration is ideal for preaching, teaching, or academic work.

Equips students for leadership roles in local churches, mission organizations, or global ministry. Courses focus on leadership, church development, and cross-cultural ministry.

Combines theological training with practical counseling skills to prepare students for ministry roles that involve care, support, and spiritual guidance in various settings.

The Master of Divinity program is available online and at our Louisville campuses and through CU Online. The curriculum covers core areas of biblical studies, theology, church history, pastoral ministry, preaching, and spiritual formation. To be admitted into the Master of Divinity program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Earned from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Official Transcripts: Submit from all previously attended institutions.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5: Applicants must meet this academic standard.
  • Letters of Recommendation: Typically two, from academic or ministry references.
  • Personal Statement: Describe your calling, goals, and interests in the M.Div. program.
  • Interview (if requested): May be required based on application materials.

By meeting these requirements, you’ll be equipped to take the next step in your journey toward faithful ministry and theological leadership.
