This scholarship, valued up to $10,000 per academic year, presents a chance for students to alleviate the financial burdens associated with pursuing a college degree.

Incoming freshman who have a cumulative weighted GPA of anywhere from a 2.0 to a 2.49 GPA do not qualify for an automatically awarded merit scholarship. Therefore, the student has to apply for the Heartland Scholarship by submitting a Statement Letter.

Heartland Scholarship applicants must submit a Statement Letter addressing the following:
  • Reason for Current GPA: Applicants should provide a candid explanation of the factors contributing to their current GPA status. This may include personal challenges, academic setbacks, or other circumstances that have impacted their academic performance.
  • Motivation to Attend Campbellsville University: Applicants should articulate their reasons for choosing CU. This should encompass aspects such as the university's academic reputation, programs offered, campus culture, and any specific attributes that resonate with the applicant's academic and personal goals.
  • Academic/Athletic Goals and Future Plans: Applicants should outline their academic and athletic (if applicable) aspirations, highlighting their long-term goals and how they envision their education at CU contributing to their personal and professional development.
  • Academic Plan for Maintaining Acceptable GPA: Applicants should present a clear plan for maintaining an acceptable GPA throughout their tenure at CU. This should include strategies for academic improvement, utilization of University resources, and any additional support(s) they plan to utilize.
