Angie Atwood receives promotion

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Angie Atwood, instructor in nursing at Campbellsville University, has been promoted to assistant professor of nursing, according to an announcement from Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of Campbellsville University.

Atwood of Greensburg, Ky. has served in her position at Campbellsville University since 2006.

Atwood served as part time clinical instructor at Western Kentucky University while working as the staff registered nurse in the emergency room at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg.

She worked at Taylor County Hospital from 1999 to 2000 as a staff nurse.

Atwood has also served on medical mission trips to Haiti with CU's School of Nursing.

Atwood received her associate degree in nursing in 1998, bachelor of science degree in nursing in 2004, and master's in nursing in 2007, all from WKU. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in nursing education from Capella University.

Atwood is a 1995 graduate of Green County High School in Greensburg.

She and her husband, Kevin, have two children, Mason and Brooklyn.
