CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.— The Campbellsville Singers will present a concert during Campbellsville University's weekly chapel service, Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 10 a.m. in Ransdell Chapel, located at 401 N. Hoskins, Ave., Campbellsville.
The event is free and open to the public.
The Campbellsville Singers, directed by Matthew Hodge, instructor in music and fine arts recruiter, will present a series of Christian-oriented songs in the styles of jazz, southern gospel, blues, praise and worship and adult contemporary.
Hodge serves as director, composer and pianist for the group.
All of the songs performed by the group are original songs or original arrangements composed by Hodge.
The Campbellsville Singers are part of a “music outreach committee,” and they travel each month to churches and other functions for the university.
The group consists of six female students from Campbellsville University: Carmen Drake, a December 2010 graduate from Hodgenville, Ky.; Sarah Smith, a senior from Brandenburg, Ky.; Hannah Nunn, a sophomore from Radcliff, Ky.; Sarah Porter, a freshman from Harrodsburg, Ky.; Cassandra Wilson, a senior from Campbellsville, Ky.; and Brittany Judd, a December 2010 graduate from Campbellsville, Ky.
Chapel is designed to provide opportunities for corporate worship and exposure through a variety of informative speakers and presentations. All chapels are open to the public free of charge and are televised live on WCLU (Comcast Cable channel 10) and are streamed live on the Internet.
