CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University's Theater Department will be hosting a summer theater camp June 20-24 in the Russ Mobley Theater. The camp is called “Spur of the Moment” and is an improv workshop for children in kindergarten through eighth grade.

The cost is $75 per child with a multiple child discount available. This price includes the workshop, plus a T-shirt and a performance on the last day of camp, June 24. The deadline to register is June 10.

From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. is for kindergarten to third graders and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. is for fourth graders to eighth graders.

The skills covered in the workshop include creative collaboration, using your vocal range as an actor, thinking outside the box, utilizing your whole body and responding to the audience.

Starr Garrett, director of theater at CU, said the camp is going to be “great.” She said, “The camp will help students improve their self confidence and help them be more expressive on stage.

“All interested students are urged to attend. We'll have fun and learn a lot!”
