CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Canon Robert L. Bozeman, musician for the Diocese of Kentucky and Christ Church Cathedral, will perform at the Tuesday, Nov. 8 Noon Organ Recital at Campbellsville University.

The recital is at 12:20 p.m. at the Ransdell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville. Bozeman will play on the 1894 Farrand and Votey Pipe Organ that was enlarged and rebuilt by Moller, Pilcher and Milnar Organ Companies. It has three manuals, pedalboard and 51 ranks.

Bozeman will play works by J.S. Bach, Widor, Bolcom and Albright.

In concert with the Dean of the Cathedral, Bozeman is responsible for the planning and providing all liturgical and congregational music for the principle Eucharistic services of the cathedral, Evensong and Advent Lessons and Carols.

Since he began work at the cathedral in 2006, he has re-introduced Evensong sung by the Cathedral Choir or guest choirs from nearby congregations. He is the artistic director of Cathedral Arts, which regularly presents short concerts preceding Evensong as well as full length concerts by local and regional artists throughout the year. He was instrumental in selecting the 2008 purchase of the Gober chancel organ for the cathedral.

Bozeman is a doctoral candidate in organ performance and music theory at the College Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, Ohio, studying with Roberta Gary. In 1995 he earned a Master of Music degree in Organ Performance from the University of Kansas City. He completed undergraduate work in Organ Performance at the University of Oklahoma in 1993.

Bozeman was a guest speaker at The University of the South School of Theology in March 2010, presenting the lecture “Music and Worship in the Emergent Church.” Additionally, he has made presentations on “Worship in the 21st Century” and “Music for the small instrument” for other church musicians.
