CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Family Weekend at Campbellsville University is Friday, Sept.
24 and Saturday, Sept. 25.
“Family Weekend is a friendly interactive set of events that allows families, parents
and friends to see what all the students have been up to since their departure from
home a few weeks back,” Shannon Clark, director of alumni relations, said.
A big event during the weekend is the home football game on Saturday, where the Campbellsville Tigers are set to face Mid-South Conference rival Lindsey Wilson College. This will be the first ever meeting on the gridiron between the two schools. Kickoff is set for 1:30 pm. Tickets go on sale at the gate at $9 for adults and $5 for anyone else. Children under six and students with a valid student ID are admitted free.
There will be a Family Weekend barbecue on Stapp Lawn from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Friday. CU students will be admitted in free with student ID. Tickets will be $5 per adult; children 10 and under are also free.
Later that evening, the CU Family Association will host an information session from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. in the Winters Dinging Hall. A desserts reception will follow.
At 7:30 p.m., The Dave and Ed Show will conclude Friday's activities. The show will be playing in Ransdell Chapel. This free event will be the 11th annual comedic Dave and Ed Show.
Events pick up again Saturday afternoon at 11:30 a.m. with the Tiger Tailgate on Stapp Lawn. Tickets are $7 per adult and $5 per student. Ages 10 and under eat free. Tiger Tailgate will conclude at 1 p.m.
“Then at 1:30, make sure you're in your seats at Finley Stadium, because we are expecting a packed house of family, friends and alumni for the football game,” Clark said. “Don't forget to wear your maroon to support your Fighting Tigers in this newly born rivalry game as they try to stay perfect in the Mid-South Conference, with a record of 1-0.
