CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -Campbellsville University will be hosting Memphis Marsha's artists Lynne Ferguson and Marsha Heidbrink as they assemble a mixed media art exhibit in Campbellsville University's Art Gallery, located at 205 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky.
This exhibit is free and open to the public, and lasts until March 25. A closing reception will be held March 25 from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Art Gallery.
Heidbrink is owner of Memphis Marsha's, an art gallery in Bowling Green, Ky. She renovated
a one-room, one-story building into a two-floor 1,800 square foot mini art center,
according to the Memphis Marsha's website.
Using the building and the owner's time era and her heritage from Memphis, Heidbrink
redesigned the building and turned it to an art gallery that also gives art classes.
Heidbrink, from Alvaton, Ky., earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts & Master of Arts in Education degrees from Western Kentucky University.
Before opening Memphis Marsha's in 2002, she taught art appreciation at WKU, and served as gallery director there, then later at The Capitol Arts Center in Bowling Green.
She has two grown children and four grandchildren.
Award-winning artist, Lynne Marrs-Hammer Ferguson, is a teacher as well as a featured artist at Memphis Marsha's from Glasgow Ky. Ferguson received a Bachelors of Fine Arts from WKU with an area of concentration in commercial art. Her master's degree in folk art also came from WKU.
She now serves as Artist-in-Residence at the Kentucky Library and Museum at WKU.
She has been involved in professional artist organizations such as the Visual Artist League of Bowling Green (VAL), Louisville Visual Arts Association (LVAA) as an exhibiting artist in the purchase and rental gallery, and Visual Artist Alliance of Nashville (VAAN) where she exhibited in their first juried art exhibition.
Ferguson has worked with elementary and middle school students in Warren, Barren and Hart counties. She has exhibited with awards in local and regional art exhibitions, and her works are held in regional corporate & private collections.
