CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - “My life has always revolved around art,” said Campbellsville University student Sara Rebecca Rowland of Wickliffe, Ky., who is holding her senior art exhibit at the Art Gallery, 205 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky., through April 16.
“One of my first memories of ever keeping something and being happy that I had kept it is of a little modeling clay sculpture of a dog my grandparents used to have,” she said. “I felt like I knew then I wanted to be an artist.”
Rowland, who graduates in May, will be showing ceramics, paintings, photography and 3-D works at her exhibit. She will have a reception April 10 from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the gallery. Everyone is invited.
Rowland is a 2006 graduate of Ballard Memorial High School. She said when she got to high school, she had an “incredible art teacher who knew her stuff.” That teacher pushed her to continue her career in art.
“Now that I'm at Campbellsville University, I know my skills have improved a great deal thanks to the great professors teaching me the skills I needed to know.”
Rowland said each of her pieces is different but “each piece holds many meanings to my heart.”
She is the daughter of Kenneth and Rebecca Rowland of Wickliffe.
She exhibited work in the 2007-09 Campbellsville University Student Juried Shows
