CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University School of Music will present its sixth annual “Christmas Tapestry” concert Friday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m. in the Ransdell Chapel, located at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.

The event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of CU, will open the festivities, and the concert will feature a wide variety of the school's ensembles performing secular and sacred music of the season.

The University Orchestra and Chorale, the Jazz Ensemble and Chamber Choir will be featured, as well as several other smaller ensembles.

New to the concert this year will be the Steel Drum Ensemble. “The Caribbean feel of the steel drums should add a whole new element to the festivities,” said Dr. Frieda Gebert, associate professor of music at CU.

The concert will also include several sing-a-long carols for the audience.

This event is a favorite for many in the community and attendance has been quite high in the past, so plan to arrive early,” Gebert said.
