CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University is hosting “A Day of Giving” Thursday, Nov. 17 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and partnering with two radio stations in Campbellsville, Q-104 and K-Country 105.7, as well as Asbury Church and The GADDCO Group.

“A Day of Giving” is a food drive for the Taylor County Food Pantry at Green River Ministries. Canned food and other non-perishable food donations may be dropped off at Campbellsville University's parking lot on the corner of Broadway and Columbia Avenues, located next to the School of Nursing.

Barb Smith, station manager at Q-104, said there was a discussion about the need, especially heading into the holidays, to help out the Taylor County Food Pantry at Green River Ministries. Also, they felt that they had the perfect vehicle to reach a huge amount of people in Taylor County to promote a food drive.

Campbellsville University agreed to partner with the radio stations and provide the location at the corner of Broadway and North Columbia, along with a truck to house and transport the donations for the day.

“Q-104 and K-Country 105.7 will be on the air, throughout the day from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., encouraging folks to drop off donations,” Smith said.

Rob Roberts, director of grounds and landscape development at CU, said “We're glad to help the food drive in any way we can by providing the location and trucks to transport the donated food items.”

The goal of the “Day of Giving” is to fill the truck with 10,000 pounds of food in canned goods and non-perishables. Financial donations are also accepted and appreciated.

Campbellsville University is a widely acclaimed Kentucky-based Christian university with more than 3,500 students offering 63 undergraduate options, 17 master's degrees, five postgraduate areas and eight pre-professional programs. The website for complete information is campbellsville.edu.
