CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University will host Sherre Miller Bishop, a Christian dramatist, speaker and writer, for chapel on Wednesday, Feb. 29 at 10 a.m. in Ransdell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.

Chapel is held in the Ransdell Chapel on campus at 10 a.m. every Wednesday and is free and open to the public.

Bishop is known for her “down-to-earth speaking style and sense of humor” throughout her presentations. She gives speeches and presents dramatic performances, surrounding faith-based issues, to diverse groups.

In 2005, Bishop's stage production “From the Motherland to the Promised Land,” took her to Hollywood to perform as a featured winner in the 12th Annual Los Angeles Women's Theater Festival.

Bishop is a recipient of the Economic Excellence and Equity Award, presented during the Tennessee Economic Summit for Women, recognizing those who have distinguished themselves in a specific field or life commitment contributing to the improvement of the lives of girls and women in Tennessee.

She has appeared in commercials and independent films and is known as “the first lady of Christian comedy, Sistah Willie Ruth Johnson.”

Bishop seeks to integrate ministry through the dramatic arts using her favorite topics focusing on the concerns of women, such as, mission-mindedness in a stressful world, being in a doing world, “sisterhood-ology” and juggling many hats while serving God.

Chapel is designed to provide opportunities for corporate worship and exposure through a variety of informative speakers and presentations.

All chapels are open to the public free of charge and are televised live on WLCU- (Campbellsville Cable channel 10) and are streamed live on the Internet.
