CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TO HEAR
DR. LES HOLLON SPEAK AT CHAPEL FEB. 17

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Dr. Leslie Hollon, senior pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas, and member of the Campbellsville University Board of Trustees, is scheduled to speak at Campbellsville University's chapel at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17 in the Ransdell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.
Chapel is open to the public.
Hollon served as pastor of St. Matthews Baptist Church in Louisville, Ky., from 1994 until becoming pastor in Texas in 2009. He also was pastor at Finchville Baptist Church from 1978 to 1985 as well as at Wornall Road Baptist Church from 1985 to 1994.
Popular author and speaker Dr. Calvin Miller said of Hollon, “If one were to consult the Oxford Dictionary of English for the definition of ‘pastor,' they would see a picture of Leslie Hollon.”
Hollon was called to preach in February of 1970 and chose to dedicate his studies to ministry. In 1974, he received his license from Columbus Avenue Baptist Church in Waco, Texas. He was ordained at First Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tenn. in 1978.
In previous pastorates Hollon nursed weakening churches back to health creating both spiritual and numerical growth. St. Matthews Baptist Church is an example of a church maturing through his leadership.
Hollon writes in areas of Christian faith and practice and has contributed to ten books and several periodicals. He is also a contributing blogger at www.makethedayscount.com. His most recent book release was “Christian Reconciliation Ministries: Healing Hurts and Building Hope.”
Hollon is a global strategist for Reconciliation Networks of Our World and a leader with the Baptist World Alliance, among other organizations.
He received a Ph.D., master of theology and master of divinity degrees from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1984, 1981 and 1979, respectively, and his bachelor of arts from Baylor University in Waco, Texas in 1976.
Hollon is married to Vicki Lynn Hall, a musician with a master of divinity degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a doctorate of Ministry degree from the Divinity School of Drew University. She has served as executive director for the Wayne E. Oates Institute since 1996.
Chapel is designed to provide opportunities for corporate worship and exposure through of a variety of informative speakers and presentations.
