Faculty Recital: Dr. Lisa McArthur, flute

Dr. Lisa R. McArthur holds the rank of Associate Professor of Music.  In addition to conducting the University Flute Ensemble, Dr. McArthur teaches courses in music theory and orchestration, graduate courses in music history and psychology of music, and applied flute.  She is a member of the graduate music faculty.

Dr. McArthur has been listed in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who of American Women, and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders.  In 2001, Dr. McArthur was awarded the College/University Professor of the Year Award from Kentucky Music Educators Association.   Dr. McArthur is a frequent adjudicator for solo and ensemble festivals, as well as the solo competitions at the Kentucky Flute Festival.  Before coming to Campbellsville University in 1998, Dr. McArthur taught strings/orchestra to students in grades 4-12 in Akron, Ohio.  She is currently a frequent performer and clinician throughout KY, OH, and NY and has published a number of arrangements for flute ensemble.

Dr. McArthur was a founding member and is the current President of the Flute Society of Kentucky.  Other professional affiliations in which Dr. McArthur is involved include membership in the Society for Music Theory, College Music Society, National Flute Association, Music Educators National Conference, National Association of College Wind and Percussion Instructors, Pi Kappa Lambda, and Sigma Alpha Iota.
