WDRB Media is seeking an engaging and dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead and direct the Accounting/Finance department for Block Communications, Inc. television entities that include television stations operating under the call letters: WDRB/WBKI, WLIO & WAND/DAND.
Primary duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for month end close for multiple entities each month including variance analysis to budget and prior year(s).
- Review all balance sheet account analysis on a monthly basis with the assistance of the Controller and Senior Accountant.
- Calculate, record, and reconcile monthly balances, amortization and impairment (if necessary) of the stations second largest asset, film contracts.
- Prepare the annual capital and operating detail budgets, including a 5 year projection, for multiple television properties; including analyzing the progress against those budgets.
- Provide various other reports as requested by management.
- Use expertise and analysis to assist in financial decision making.
- Prepare annual property tax returns for multiple properties.
- Negotiate pricing and contracts with vendors.
- Supervise the Accounting functions for multiple properties; recruitment, training, development, performance management, etc.
- Preparation, validation and maintenance of all processes within functional areas
- Following and enforcing the Company’s policies and procedures, including the EEO guidelines and safety, at all times
Desired Requirements:
- Experience with SAGE100, Dynamics, Biznet, and/or Wide Orbit
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in the accounting or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Must hold a valid CPA Certificate
- Possess a good working knowledge of basic legal tenants as they pertain to corporate and labor law
- 7+ years prior experience with general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation
- 5+ years prior experience in a supervisory capacity
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Considerable skill with Microsoft Excel to include Pivot Tables)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Strictly maintains confidentiality of financial and/or other information acquired in the course of work; discloses only when authorized, unless legally obligated to do so
- Background and driving record that meets Company standards; valid Driver’s License
- This position works in an automated business office environment.
