We are seeking a Morning Co-Anchor!
You are the ultimate morning person; so full of energy and truly excited to be at the top of the day’s news cycle. You LOVE television journalism. You know the meaningful connections that an anchor can make at the beginning of someone’s day. Is my world safe? What happened overnight? What’s on the day’s agenda? What really matters? What do I NEED to know? You have this intuitive sense about how to make a broadcast come alive. It’s about the chemistry between you and the rest of the team. It’s about the stories you want in the newscast. It’s about trust, credibility, meaningful information and making your viewers glad they are alive for another day. You can also be a top no nonsense, take no prisoners, don’t mess with the 1st Amendment reporter at a moment’s notice. NO ONE scares you. There’s nothing at stake here except the Bill of Rights and the future of the country.
We are WPSD LOCAL6, the well-equipped, award winning, family-owned NBC affiliate in the 92nd market. We like being number one and expect you to help us stay there. We need a great morning co-anchor to team with one of our market’s most popular and well-known anchormen. You need to be a newsroom leader. We expect that from all of our anchors. We also expect you to know how to shoot, edit and write powerful stories. We have a group of talented photographers but you’re not too good to WANT to pick up a camera sometimes. You understand it gives you powerful control.
You are a Journalist, not confused by words like FOIA, transparency, storytelling and the Bill of Rights. You’ve actually read a non-fiction BOOK in the last month, probably read and study regularly, for pleasure, things like history, current events, culture, journalism and character.
